Message from your co - Presidents:

We can't believe it has been a year since we were inducted. As you know, we are working on bringing in more members and keeping out chapter vital with new interest groups.

To facilitate this, we started a marketing group and Dell has been leading that effort.
We have:

    • Added new design elements to the website - brighter, more colorful easier to navigate
    • New tagline that is repeated on all pages and in all communications
    • Study groups were re-named interest groups
    • Started a Facebook page
    • Suggested monthly theme outreaches from the interest group vps to leaders
    • Worked with the event committee to do more promotion
    • Established a vp of new interest groups (Alvira) who is doing a great job of working with members to start new groups and get them up and running
    • Working on prospective member event July 29 at night to attract younger (newly retired and almost retired)
    • Every month, we participate in a zoom with other presidents and the BNC national staff to find out what other chapters are doing and how they are managing outreach!
    • Expand events to reach out to the general community and to Brandeis in Southern California Student Ambassadors and have him or her enjoy this student on zoom
All chapters have been assigned a Brandeis student ambassador. If you have not heard from your student ambassador, please let Ingrid know.
These undergraduates have been appointed as liaisons to the chapters and you may invite them to attend a board meeting or study group by Zoom or in person, as appropriate.
Their role is to share the Brandeis student experience with your members and to increase their awareness of BNC.

We are very proud of our standing as the second largest BNC chapter in the nation. We have 883 members with over 70 study groups. We thank each and every one of you for maintaining your membership and keeping our chapter vibrant.

Your $70 annual membership goes to Brandeis University and the $18 study group fees remain at our chapter to pay for operating expenses. Since its founding in 1948, BNC has raised nearly $150 million in support of Brandeis.

For many of us, our groups give us a chance to develop meaningful friendships and connections and network with new acquaintances with similar interests. Join a canasta or mahjong game. Explore with our On The Town Groups. In our member-led study groups you can learn about history, legal affairs, literature and more. There is a group to fit everyone's interest!
